The Universal Orlando® Resort opened on June 7, 1990 with a single theme park, but has since grown into a popular vacation destination. Today, the resort features two world-class theme parks, one themed water park, five themed resort hotels and an outdoor shopping, dining and entertainment complex.
Theme Parks
The Universal Orlando® Resort features two world-class theme parks. The first theme park to open at the resort, Universal Studios Florida®, features attractions and live shows based on movies and television shows from pop culture. The park is also home to a working production studio for the entertainment industry.
The second theme park to open at the resort, Universal’s Islands of Adventure®, features attractions and live shows based on adventure and exploration.
Water Parks
The Universal Orlando® Resort includes a Pacific isle themed water park, Universal’s Volcano Bay™, that features thrilling water adventures, waterside cabanas and a relaxing lazy river. The water park utilizes the latest in technology which means guests can experience all the fun without having to worry about waiting in long lines or carrying rafts around the park.
Shopping, Dining & Entertainment
In addition to two theme parks and a water park, the Universal Orlando® Resort also consists of an outdoor shopping, dining and entertainment complex known as Universal CityWalk®. There are a wide range of entertainment options including miniature golf courses, a 20-screen movie theater, multiple nightclubs, a live theatrical production and a live concert venue.

The Universal Orlando® Resort offers a selection of on-site places to stay with a range of benefits, accommodations and amenities.
